An agrivoltaic system with several cable ducts in the heart of an area rich in nuraghes, domus de janas and Romanesque churches . The project, currently undergoing environmental impact assessment, is proposed by the Sassari company Sardinian Green 10 srl, is called “S'Ena” and would be built in the highly agricultural and archaeological landscape of Campu Giavesu – Su Padru, in the territory of Cossoine .
The Legal Intervention Group (GRIG) yesterday, December 29, asked the Ministry of the Environment to formally deny the environmental compatibility of the plants and also informed the Ministry of Culture, the Sardinia Region, the Municipality of Cossoine, the Special Superintendency for the Pnrr and the Superintendency for Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Sassari.
The project includes a plant of about 20.5 MW and numerous power lines connecting to the national grid and cable ducts . In the area, Grig points out, there are the nuraghes S'Ena, Accas, Idda, Furraghes, the complex with the Tomb of the Giants of Aidu-Corruoes, the domus de janas of Su Fronte, the Romanesque church of Santa Maria Iscalas . Several sites that fall within the Natura 2000 Network are also involved, furthermore the area is the historical home of the little bustard, a protected species in Sardinia and in Europe.
The power plant, Grig underlines, would be built within the seven km buffer zone from protected areas with cultural or landscape restrictions established by the law on suitable areas .
"Being in favor of energy produced from renewable sources does not mean having obtuse blinkers, it does not mean having poured one's brain into the mass of the vulgate of politically correct environmentalism", underlines the association, noting how the speculation in progress concerns various territories of Italy, from Tuscia to Puglia, from Maremma to Sicily.
«Throughout the country, the requests for connection of new plants presented to Terna as of August 31, 2024 total 5,999, equal to 342.10 GW of power. An overdose of energy that could not even be consumed ». And the only ones to gain will be «the energy companies».
