Agreement between the Navy and the Port System Authority for the definition of the areas of the port of Cagliari with a reorganization of the spaces.

The Navy is ready to return to the Port System Authority a portion of the port which includes the Quay Garau (excluding part of the root which will remain bound to the security needs of the Logistic Support Command), the Port Authority Pier and the whole Quay Ichnusa. There are over 4 thousand square meters of uncovered surface, about 9 thousand and 500 of water bodies and almost 450 linear meters of mooring.

The AdSP, on the other hand, will deliver to the Navy the port areas, with mooring points, on the west side and the head of the Molo Sabaudo, which will be destined to service the naval units assigned to the Cagliari office. The spaces delivered will be equal to 21 thousand square meters of uncovered surface, 19 thousand of water mirrors, for a total of 665 linear meters of mooring.

While these steps will become effective at the end of the construction works for the new Ro-Ro Terminal in the West Outer Port of the canal port, with immediate effect the agreement provides for the return to the AdSP of the Navy compendium in the Su Siccu area, near the Parco dei Magazzini del Sale (so-called Parco Nervi), and the contextual transfer of the equipment of the Logistic Support Command to a shed in the Savoy pier currently occupied by the underwater archaeological finds of the Superintendency which will, in turn, be transferred to the former Guardia di Finanza building in Su Siccu.

"The recently signed memorandum of understanding - says Massimo Deiana, president of the AdSP of the Sea of Sardinia - completes the administrative process of the complex process of redefining the spaces and functions of the historic port of Cagliari".
