An 18-year-old was arrested by the Selargius carabinieri for aggravated theft.
The young man, of Algerian nationality and domiciled at the extraordinary reception center of Villanovaforru, had entered the "Le Vele" shopping center in Quartucciu : after breaking the anti-shoplifting devices of various items of clothing with burglary tools for a total value of 450 euros , he had hidden them inside his jacket as he passed the checkout barrier on the exit lane without purchases.
The supervisory staff, who had noticed his movements, blocked him asking for the intervention of the carabinieri. The military arrived on the spot and recovered the stolen goods, taking the young man to the barracks.
The young foreigner was placed under house arrest at the Cas di Villanovaforru awaiting the express trial scheduled for today in Cagliari.
