Mauro Carta is the new president of ACLI Sardegna. Originally from Gesico, 48 years old, he was elected by the regional council which met today in Cagliari.

Graduated in economics and commerce, researcher and consultant, he has worked in the sector of community planning and international cooperation and employment policies, he deals with employment and business services.

Author of numerous publications and research on the phenomenon of depopulation and migratory flows in Sardinia , he has been dealing with Sardinian emigrants for years through the Emigration Immigration Regional Committee (CREI). For two terms he was president of the provincial ACLI of Cagliari and president of Ipsia Sardegna.

« The ACLI must continue to be a space for participation and active commitment towards the community , as they have always been - are the first words of the new president - The ACLI of Sardinia will continue to take care, as they have done in recent years under the guidance of my friend Franco Marras, whom I thank for the work he has done, for the social promotion of the territories , for young people and for the creation of social networks . We are also committed to keeping attention high on the plight of the Ukrainian people through a major project for the reception and integration of refugees who have arrived on the island. An important job awaits us, I am optimistic and I hope we will be able to do it».
