Antonio Carboni, the former Torres executive accused in complicity of extortion in relation to the robbery for a 2016 affair that took place in the company's headquarters in Sassari, was sentenced with the abbreviated procedure to 4 years in prison and to pay 3,300 euros.

The sentence was pronounced this afternoon by the judge for the preliminary hearings Antonio Piana who also decided against proceeding "for not having committed the crime" for the other two defendants, the former president of Torres Daniele Piraino, and the former company secretary Rita Marras.

Prosecutor Beatrice Giovannetti had asked for four years for Carboni, defended by the lawyer Agostinangelo Marras, while for Piraino, assisted by the lawyer Elias Vacca, the indictment and the non-suitability for Marras whose lawyer is Carlo Pinna Parpaglia.

The facts date back to November 7 years ago when the entrepreneur Andrea Baeli was interested in the purchase of Torres. And it was the latter who denounced having been surrounded on one occasion by several rossoblù ultras and forced to tear up the contract with which he took over the company shares. According to Baeli's account, Carboni, Piraino and Marras were also present at the meeting.
