Huddled together, just ten days old, left in a bag abandoned under an overpass like garbage. That's how six puppies were found - five males and one female - near a shopping center in Cagliari. They were saved by a citizen who, during a bike ride on Sunday morning, heard faint whimpers coming from the bag and immediately raised the alarm.

The encounter with a police patrol that was passing through the area at that moment was providential. The police took charge of the puppies, visibly tired but alive, and immediately secured them, then entrusted them to a kennel that has an agreement with the Municipality.

The little ones are fine and are now safe, waiting to find a family to take them in. In the meantime, investigations are continuing to identify those responsible for the abandonment.

The police take the opportunity to relaunch the #senontiportononparto campaign, against the abandonment of animals, a phenomenon that unfortunately worsens as summer approaches. Because a puppy is not a toy to be left behind: it is a life.
