After an extraordinary congress (held in Tempio), a new important territorial branch of the CGIL Public Function was born.

The acronym is Fp Cgil Nord Sardegna, the result of the merger of Fp Cgil Gallura and Fp Cgil Sassari. A statement from the confederal union states that the category "will cover the entire territory of northern Sardinia. Paolo Dettori was unanimously elected general secretary. With his colleague Jessica Cardia, he carried out and implemented the project that created the largest FP category on the island. Claudia Fadda, Toto Terrosu, and Lorenzo Scagliotti also serve on the secretariat." Dettori and Cardia stated: "The result achieved is a starting point for relaunching the CGIL's union activity throughout northern Sardinia, for growing and training a renewed leadership team capable of guaranteeing the union's future, while best protecting the rights of workers. This is a new, greater commitment that does not intimidate us; we are aware of the great responsibilities and will work together with the Chambers of Labor of Olbia and Sassari to achieve the union's specific objectives, namely the protection of rights."

The extraordinary congress was closed by the national secretary of FP CGIL, Mauro Puglia, who, along with Francesca Nurra, proposed electing Paolo Dettori as general secretary. Massimiliano Muretti and Danilo Deiana, general secretaries of the Olbia and Sassari Chambers of Labor, and Roberta Gessa, general secretary of FP CGIL Sardinia, also spoke.
