A shot goes off, a policeman dies: tragedy at the Soddì polygon

Tragedy at the Soddì shooting range, at the end of an exercise by the State Police.

The dynamics of the accident are not yet clear, but from what we learn an agent died after being hit by a shot accidentally fired by a weapon held by a colleague who was cleaning it at the end of the operations.

The bullet would have hit him in the abdomen, leaving him no way out.

Sergio Di Loreto, the victim, was originally from Agrigento and had worked for a long time in Rome. He had arrived in Sardinia to participate in a refresher course at the Caip in Abbasanta. He was 48 years old.

On the spot the police, who have launched investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident.
