750 kilos of fish seized, 140 of urchin and sea urchin pulp alone . All within a month, between January 8th and February 8th. It is the result of the SpINNaker operation (where "Inn" stands for Illegal Undeclared and Unregulated), which involved the Port Authorities of Cagliari and Oristano and the maritime district offices of Arbatax, Bosa, Carloforte, Portoscuso and Sant'Antioco .

A total of thirty-nine offenses were contested, both civil and criminal, for a total of 42,617 euros in administrative fines : the majority linked to the labeling or lack of traceability of the product, but that's not all.

Among the various violations, the promotion, via social media, of the sale of fish products, including sea urchin pulp, without any documentation, also stands out. In one case, a 5,000 euro fine was imposed for the lack of a trade authorization.

Stings worth 9 thousand euros also in four cases of fishing boats caught in areas subject to fishing restrictions, while in Santa Gilla an amateur was also found carrying out underwater fishing with a scuba (prohibited practice).

Two thousand of the seized urchins, still alive, were released into the sea .
