Approximately 100 kg of frozen food products, destined for an oriental cuisine restaurant , and transported from Milan to Porto Cervo in a truck without a refrigerated cell, isothermal insulation and specific certification : this is what personnel from the Sassari traffic police discovered at the port of Olbia.

The lack of requirements, not guaranteeing compliance with the cold chain, could have caused concrete danger for the final recipients of the transported foods.

The Food Hygiene Service of the ASL of Olbia then ordered the seizure of the food and drew up the relevant reports. The truck was also subjected to a weight check, resulting in overloading compared to the legal limits.

The driver, an Italian citizen, with two other foreign passengers on board, reported that he was transporting the goods between two locations of the same company and for administration to the public.
