Widespread checks were conducted overnight in the Cagliari area, where Carabinieri from the capital's Carabinieri Company—with the stations of Pirri, Cagliari San Bartolomeo, and the Mobile Radio Unit, supported by plainclothes officers—combined Elmas and several towns in the province. Over a hundred people were apprehended, including vehicle and personal checks. The objective: to combat drug use and drunk driving.

In Elmas, officers reported a 19-year-old local man found in his car with approximately 14 grams of hashish, divided into 13 doses. The drugs were seized and sent to a laboratory, while the young man's license was revoked. During the same operation, a 36-year-old man from the hinterland was reported for driving without a driver's license. He was charged and given administrative fines. During the checkpoints, another driver, a 20-year-old, tested positive for alcohol. He was charged, had his driving license revoked, and had his vehicle impounded. The patrols, both uniformed and plainclothes, also reported to the Prefecture two young men, aged 22 and 25, who were found with over 3 grams and almost 1 gram of hashish, respectively.

Checks were also conducted in Senorbì, where Carabinieri from the Dolianova NORM Mobile Radio Unit reported a 22-year-old man caught with almost 10 grams of marijuana. In this case, too, the drugs were seized and his license was revoked.
