CUBEDDU
Born in 1947 in Arzana, and known to the police from a very young age, he took part in several kidnappings between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany in the 1980s. In 1984 he was arrested in Riccione and sentenced to 30 years .
During a leave granted to him in 1997, he did not return to Badu 'e Carros prison and has been on the run since then. He has since been involved in the kidnapping of Giuseppe Soffiantini and in the murder of the Nocs policeman Samuele Donatoni : for the first crime he was sentenced to another 30 years in prison, for the second he was acquitted. He was also suspected, but never formally charged, of having played a role in the kidnapping of Silvia Melis.
For a certain period there was the hypothesis that he had been killed by an accomplice in order not to share the ransom money for the Soffiantini kidnapping, but in 2012 the prosecutor Domenico Fiordalisi reopened the investigations, convinced that in reality Cubeddu is alive and he is hiding in Ogliastra, protected by several supporters .
