A greenhouse with 120 cannabis plants was found in a house in Pula, where a 44-year-old woman was arrested.
Police discovered the drug. The cultivated drugs could have fetched up to €80,000.A fully equipped indoor greenhouse, hidden inside a home and capable of supplying a local drug dealing hub.
This is what investigators from the Cagliari Flying Squad discovered after conducting a targeted crime monitoring operation in the city's hinterland.
The operation is the result of a complex information-investigative activity that had already turned the spotlight on a 44-year-old woman , with a police record, believed to be active in the management of drug dealing in the Pula area.
Subsequent observation and shadowing operations conducted by officers in the previous days allowed them to document suspicious movements and consolidate the evidence.
The raid was timely. Officers detained the woman and initiated a search, which led to the discovery of a greenhouse inside a property owned by the woman, containing approximately 120 flowering cannabis plants, powered by a complete ventilation and artificial lighting system.
During the operation, approximately 1,700 euros in cash , believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing, were also seized, as well as material used for packaging and managing the substance.
Further investigations have identified another room used for cultivation. Further investigations are underway to determine whether any illegal connections to the electricity grid were used to power the greenhouse.
According to an initial conservative estimate, the cannabis grown could have fetched between €60,000 and €80,000 if sold on the drug market.
At the end of the operation, the woman was arrested and placed under house arrest pending the validation trial.
