He tried to defend a young woman and was attacked and injured . It happened this morning in the center of Oristano. The victim was a garbage collector in his 60s.

The operator was working in the Piazza Eleonora area when he saw two men grabbing a young woman . He immediately intervened, telling them to stop or he would call the police.

The two men walked away, and the girl left. Shortly afterward, the sanitation worker was approached by the two men on another street. One of them grabbed a tool from the sanitation worker, broke it in two, and struck him, wounding his head. The attackers then fled.

Emergency medical personnel and the Carabinieri arrived on the scene. The operator was treated, and the Carabinieri began an investigation to identify those responsible for the attack.
