A 37-year-old from a Nuorese municipality, a fugitive for two years, was betrayed by an envelope containing false documents that accidentally opened in a postal sorting center in Savona.

From what has been learned, the envelope contained documents with different photos but intended for the same name. The documents had to be used for expatriation.

After the discovery, the agents of the Flying Squad of the Ligurian city triggered the investigation. From this episode began the investigation of the agents of the Savona Flying Squad who then managed to track down the man and arrest him.

The 37-year-old had escaped from house arrest at the moment after the final sentence against him: 5 years and 4 months of imprisonment for possession of weapons and explosive material had become definitive.

Having fled from Sardinia, he had found refuge in a center in the Savona hinterland at the home of a 27-year-old countryman with whom he had had a relationship in past years and with whom he had reconnected.

The woman was also arrested, on charges of aiding and abetting.

During the blitz, the agents seized, in the house where the two lived, 1600 euros and luxury goods (designer clothing), credit cards in the name of third parties and two computers.
