Afternoon of fires in the Nuorese area on the first day of alert for high temperatures.

Thirty-five hectares of pasture went up in smoke in the countryside of Bolotana , due to a fire that broke out around 3 pm in the locality of "Su Erzon" and tamed within an hour by two helicopters of the Forestry Corps which took off from the bases of Fenosu and Alà dei Sardinians. The ground staff of the Forestry Corps, the Fire Brigade and the Civil Protection also operated on the spot.

This is one of the first major fires that broke out in 2022.

In the same hours another fire started near the town of Silanus right next to the railway, where thanks to the timeliness of the interventions, there were no inconveniences in the running of the trains.

The flames were quickly extinguished with the intervention of the same two helicopters, the ground staff of the Forestry Corps and the Fire Brigade.

Both in Bolotana and in Silanus the extinguishing and reclamation operations were coordinated by the patrols of the Forestry Corps of Bolotana and Nuoro.

In the meantime, the regional Civil Protection has issued a forecast bulletin for medium-dangerous fires (yellow code) in the Cagliari area for tomorrow, Thursday 2 June.
