No streetlights, a devastated road, and piles of garbage growing daily. This is the daily routine that residents of Via del Timo, in the Is Corrias area, have long lived by, a border artery divided between the municipalities of Selargius and Cagliari.
Not just a simple country road, but a hybrid path , now reduced to alternating mud and uneven asphalt, home to an Enel substation and several homes, some recently built. Yet, despite repeated reports, the hoped-for response hasn't arrived. The only communication dates back to last year, when the Municipality of Cagliari "reported difficulties in reaching an agreement on the responsibility for the project."
Meanwhile, however, the situation has worsened. Residents have repeatedly sent formal warnings, demanding urgent repairs to a road that has become impassable. Giampaolo Di Persio , speaking out for the discontent, has forwarded yet another request for action to the Cagliari city council through the Consumers' Association Codici . Fueling the discontent are the dirt road—marked with deep ruts left by rainwater and aggravated by the constant passage of cars—as well as the abundant waste abandoned among the shrubs. The document describes Via del Timo as "poor and full of potholes" and "completely devoid of street lighting," a situation that compromises the road's usability and the safety of its residents, especially since several families with children live there.
From Via del Timo, therefore, a heartfelt appeal is launched: " The Municipality must intervene, fix the road and above all provide concrete answers ."
