They had been searching for the perpetrators of several thefts that occurred in Giba in recent weeks, and some information gathered in the area put them on the trail of a 51-year-old man already known to law enforcement, a resident of Nuxis.

Yesterday evening, when the Carabinieri of the Giba station saw him circulating in the village, they decided to stop and search him, finding burglary materials.

So, with the help of other patrols, they extended the search to the man's rural property, where, according to some witnesses, the 51-year-old had hidden the stolen goods. There, they found construction equipment from two thefts reported in early October and a Lancia Y stolen last May.

Thirty illegally held .22 caliber cartridges were also seized. The stolen goods were returned to their rightful owners. The 51-year-old man was charged with receiving stolen goods. Investigations continue to identify any additional responsibilities and connections to other similar incidents in the area.
