The Oristano State Police have reported a 50-year-old man, resident in a town in the province, for sexually assaulting an underage girl. The man was also issued a mandatory expulsion order, banning him from returning to the Municipality of Oristano.

The facts: a crew from the Office for General Prevention and Public Rescue – Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters intervened in Via Tirso to assist a sixteen-year-old girl following a call to the 112 emergency line . The young woman complained of being harassed, with explicit references of a sexual nature , by a man over fifty who had approached her while she was on her way to work.

Thanks to the brief description provided by the girl, the patrol officers, after combing the city, were able to locate the perpetrator near the historic center of the capital and subsequently take him to the police station for investigation.

It was thus established that the reported person, known to the police also for property crimes, had already been involved in similar crimes in the past, mainly to the detriment of minors.

The Anti-Crime Police Division of the Police Headquarters then handled the procedures for the adoption of a preventive measure against him.

Given the confirmed facts, the numerous criminal records, including specific ones, and the lack of legitimate reasons for the man's stay in the capital, the Oristano Police Chief also issued him a mandatory expulsion order, a measure requiring the individual to leave the municipality of Oristano and prohibiting him from returning for the next three years.

The man will also have to appear before the Judicial Authority, to whom he was reported for the new episode of harassment.
