He was using a ruin next to his home as a drug warehouse, but the stunt by a thirty-two-year-old from Pula was discovered by the Carabinieri who arrested him for possession with intent to deal.
The investigators, carefully monitoring the habits and movements of the alleged pusher, identified an anomalous dynamic that led them to focus their interest on a private and uninhabited house located right next to the suspect's residence.
So the stakeouts were launched, which bore fruit: the Carabinieri noticed the man climbing over the boundary wall separating his property from the monitored area, and then entering, presumably to collect the substance.
The officers chose to wait until the thirty-two-year-old left the building before intervening, holding him under maximum security conditions. He was found in possession of three cellophane packages containing a total of 15.50 grams of cocaine, as well as a perfectly functioning precision scale. A subsequent search of the abandoned house fully confirmed the investigative hypotheses: hidden between the cracks in the brickwork of a wall, the Carabinieri discovered additional packaging material—identical to that found on the man—and two additional electronic scales.
The man was placed under house arrest.
