43 migrants were intercepted during the night by the Naval Operations Section of the Guardia di Finanza of Sant'Antioco.
One group was intercepted in the area of Cala Piombo, on the coast of Teulada, the others off Capo Teulada: they were aboard two small boats and were transported to the commercial port of Sant'Antioco, where the men of the Guardia di Finanza and the agents of the Carbonia police station.
Once the first checks had been carried out, the agents escorted the bus of the partner company for transport to the reception center in Monastir.
The 118 personnel of Sulcis Emergenze were also on site, who took steps to accompany a migrant to the Sirai emergency room in Carbonia. Given the excellent weather and sea conditions, it cannot be ruled out that there may be further landings over the next few hours.
