Sanremo, co-host Can Yaman: "The arrest in Türkiye? No case." Baudo's commentary opens.
The actor at the opening night press conference: "I hope I don't mess up." On stage, "the other" Sandokan Kabir Bedi, with special guest Tiziano Ferro.«There is no case».
Can Yaman, just hours after co-hosting the first night of the Sanremo Music Festival, quickly dismissed the matter of the arrest in Turkey : "They were routine checks, it's a tough time for Turkey. They're checking everyone, and if everything's in order, like what happened to me, they'll release you in less than 24 hours. Case closed, or rather, no case at all."
What will he do tonight? "I haven't thought about it at all so far, but I'm fine and I trust Carlo. I hope I don't mess things up."
Of course, he jokes, "Don't make me sing, or they'll arrest me again in Turkey." "If I were to play the role of someone who sings, then it would be different, but they should pay me well."
A surprise for him, tonight there will be a "confrontation" between the two Sandokans: Yaman and the historic interpreter Kabir Bedi, fifty years after the homonymous television drama by Sergio Sollima.
Carlo Conti and Laura Pausini will be joined by Tiziano Ferro, and Pippo Baudo will open the 76th edition. After last year's impressive numbers (an average of around 12 million listeners and over €65 million raised through advertising), "I don't get too excited if things go too well," says Conti. "I don't get discouraged if things don't go well. That's just how I am. I'd show up here with the same spirit even if the results were five or ten points lower than last year ."
The setlist will be released via social media tonight at 7 p.m., but in the meantime, the Big Band's performance order has been announced.
