«A three-way summit on the regional ones? If necessary, it will be done and the meetings will be held when they need to be held. But I am optimistic: the problem will be solved." This was said by the deputy prime minister and leader of Forza Italia, as well as Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani , regarding the elections that will affect Sardinia , Abruzzo, Basilicata, Piedmont and Umbria and which are causing a split between the Brothers of Italy in the center-right of the island – determined to focus on the mayor of Cagliari Paolo Truzzu as candidate for governor – and Lega, which is loudly calling, together with the Psd'Az, for the reconfirmation of Christian Solinas.

The Northern League's position was reiterated in these hours by Eugenio Zoffili , deputy and former coordinator of the League for Sardinia: «Dividing the center-right – he said – would be a mistake: we need to work for continuity with Christian Solinas for the future good of all the Sardinians and the island, where the outgoing regional council has worked hard and well."

All this while a meeting took place at Palazzo Chigi between the three leaders of the centre-right : Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini . Sources close to the government, however, assured that during the summit " there was no discussion of candidacies for the regional elections, but rather of the issue of immigration".

Hence Tajani's statements above, which were echoed by another blue exponent, the Minister of Public Administration Alberto Zangrillo , who explained: «In Sardinia the candidate will be decided by the three secretaries, we are for the unity of the coalition so we will work to find a solution that satisfies everyone."

Even for Tommaso Foti , group leader of Fdi, "everything will be resolved in the end" . «We – however, added the exponent of the prime minister's party – have already given, for example for Sicily», implying the intention and confidence of being able to prevail over Truzzu.

For his part, Solinas has called the national leadership of the Psd'Az for Friday afternoon, which will meet at 5pm in the headquarters in Viale Regina Margherita in Cagliari. In addition to the delegates, regional councilors and councilors were also called to participate, with the following agenda: " The analysis of the political situation, with the consequent decisions".
