During an argument over a poorly parked car, a 59-year-old tore off his rival's ear. The police arrested him, he is a man resident in Andria and taken to Trani prison. The episode occurred last November 24th but was only made known today.

From what has been reconstructed, the attacker argued with a 46-year-old who, according to him, was guilty of having parked the car incorrectly which prevented him from making a manoeuvre. Between the two, standing near the central Piazza Catuma, harsh words were exchanged first, then a few slaps until the suspect grabbed the victim from behind to bite his ear off.

The alarm was raised by a passerby who also recovered the ear by placing it in a box. The 46-year-old was rescued and transported to the Bonomo hospital in Andria and then urgently transferred to the plastic surgery unit in Bari to be operated on. The 59-year-old, who has a criminal record, is accused of causing very serious injuries aggravated by frivolous motives.
