He was voluntarily pushed down a flight of stairs. What everyone thought was yet another tragedy at work for the carabinieri of the Oltredora company in Turin is instead a murder.

The military today arrested a thirty-year-old, a colleague of the construction worker originally from Naples who died last December 15th in the Piedmontese capital. The man had fallen in a renovation site in Corso Ferrara, on the northern outskirts of the city, dying after a night of agony in hospital.

However, the investigations by the police and the testimonies collected have revealed numerous doubts, causing suspicions to converge on a colleague of the victim. This morning the turning point: a thirty-year-old was arrested on charges of having pushed the worker down a flight of stairs, causing injuries which later proved fatal.

In fact, on the day of the alleged accident the victim had not gone to work due to an indisposition, but in the afternoon she had shown up at the construction site to meet two colleagues. There a quarrel would have arisen with a tragic epilogue. The charge for the thirty-year-old stopped is manslaughter.
