«I don't know Rudy Guede but what we read in the documents, about his conduct before the murder, was practically proven proof of his guilt, of his responsibility. What is happening now unfortunately makes me understand that nothing has changed ."

Raffaele Sollecito , contacted by "Pomeriggio Cinque", commented on the news about the Ivorian - already convicted in the past for the murder of Meredith Kercher which occurred in Perugia in November 2007 - who was banned from approaching his ex-partner. "They said several times that he was rather harassing towards the girls - claimed Sollecito, who was definitively acquitted in the Kercher case -, people have testimonies of all kinds."

It was the Viterbo Prosecutor's Office that asked for a ban on approach and an electronic bracelet against Guede, 36 years old, accused by Tuscia prosecutors of harassment and violence against his ex , a twenty-year-old girl who is also a foreign citizen but in Italy for some years and who filed a complaint a few months ago. For him the charges are of mistreatment, personal injury and violence.

According to the accusation, the man would have taken his ex by heart and even physically attacked her. Elements confirmed during the investigation that the prosecutors, coordinated by the prosecutor Paolo Auriemma, entrusted to the men of the Flying Squad.

The holders of the proceedings had requested house arrest for Guede. A request not accepted, however, by the judge for preliminary investigations who deemed the ban on approaching at least 500 meters from the victim and the application of the device that allows remote electronic control of the subjects reached by a precautionary measure to be sufficient .

Amanda Knox also spoke on the case : «I'm so sorry for your ex-partner. How scary... I hope she has the support she needs", the American citizen limited herself to saying.

Guede, who returned free in January 2022 after serving 13 years in prison, is the only one convicted of Meredith's murder. He was tried under the abbreviated procedure and sentenced to 16 years in prison for murder in collaboration with unknown persons , most of which was served in the Mammagialla prison in Viterbo. After serving his sentence he remained to live in the capital of Tuscia where he had found work as a waiter in a restaurant and at the same time collaborated with a study centre.
