Murder in via Tiraboschi, in the center of Bergamo, today shortly before 3:30 p.m.: a 40-year-old man was stabbed to death, a few steps from the Town Hall and Largo Porta Nuova. On site were the 118 ambulances and the police patrol cars.

According to reports, the victim is a security guard at the Carrefour supermarket. His name was Mamadi Tunkara, he was originally from Gambia: he was arriving at the supermarket by bike, probably to start his shift.

When he reached the Pierantonio Cividini crossing, he was pushed by a black man of about 40/45 years old. At that point Tunkara fell to the ground, being stabbed three or four times. The stabber then ran away to via Moroni and is wanted by the police.

Tunkara was nicknamed Lookman because he looked a lot like the Atalanta striker : he even had the same braids. According to initial information, he lived in Verdello, in the province of Bergamo . Deputy Prosecutor Maria Cristina Rota also arrived at the scene of the stabbing to coordinate the investigations of the State Police. The rescue operations for the forty-year-old were prompt, but unfortunately in vain. Now the forensic team of the police headquarters is dealing with all the findings. To trace the attacker, the cameras in the area are being examined.
