Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., was reported by the Veneto regional councilor of Avs Andrea Zanoni to the Carabinieri Forestali of Mestre for the hunting trip in the Venice lagoon. According to Zanoni's complaint, Trump Jr. would have killed protected birds, incurring a criminal offense, as well as an administrative one.

The case also reaches the Veneto Regional Council with a question from Europa Verde and in Parliament with the request from Avs for intervention by Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin.

Last December, Donald Trump Jr. was in Venice on vacation with his new partner and with a group of friends he went on a hunting trip in the lagoon. On a specialized American website, "The global hunt for adventure", says Repubblica.it, a video was published that shows, with an interview, Trump Jr. surrounded by quails and ducks .

«The various hunting scenes in the Venice lagoon were probably filmed recently in Valle Pirimpie' in Campagna Lupia - says Zanoni - in an area that is protected by European regulations and is part of a site of the EU Natura 2000 Network, as a Special Conservation Area called the middle-lower lagoon of Venice».

"In one frame of the video, moreover, Trump appears while describing the ducks that were shot, among which a Ruddy Shelduck can be seen in the foreground, a duck that is very rare in all of Europe and is almost entirely orange-rust in color ," says Zanoni, who recalls that hunting is prohibited for non-residents in Italy. For the exponent of the Regional Council, "the current Meloni government seems to be now kept on a leash by the new political course of the USA, with USAF military exercises in areas protected by the EU in the Treviso area, which I denounced last week, and now Trump's son is hunting protected species in the Venice lagoon. Veneto and Italy are not US property, they cannot be the masters."
