Tragedy at the Prato shooting range. Due to a fire two people died while, in vain, they tried to take shelter from the flames that were devouring the Galceti park.

While the fire was developing, once the alarm was raised, two people were missing. The hope was that they had managed to save themselves, but yesterday evening, around 6pm, the two charred corpses were found: Alessio Leavelfari and Gabriele Paoli, 62 and 67 years old. There is also an injured person, taken to the burns center in Pisa.

From the first reconstructions, the fire would have started from inside a building in the area of the shooting range then, thanks to the wind and high temperatures, it would have fed and spread outside to finally attack the surrounding pine forest. Precisely due to the vast proportions of the fire, ten volunteer forest firefighting teams and two helicopters from the regional teams arrived on site.
