For weeks they had been living with their children aged 4 years and 10 months in the car , because they could not find a home in any way . Despite the tour of all the real estate agencies, renting an apartment in Padua and its province seemed impossible: "Nobody gives us the house because we are foreigners", said Asma, 24 years old, and Nadir, 35. Even if he, a construction worker with a permanent contract , he had no money problems.

«The owner doesn't want foreigners – he explained to Il Mattino di Padova -. I have a paycheck, a permanent contract, I have everything... I work for a construction company in Padua and now we have a construction site in Cittadella, I can pay."

Nothing to be done: the two had been forced to " park" in front of the church in the Sacred Heart district , with the availability of a bar run by Chinese for the toilets. However, someone heard the appeal and was moved.

Yesterday a couple from Padua, who wish to remain anonymous, offered regular hospitality to Nadir, with a house that will be rented out. In the meantime, the solidarity of the local community and the foreign community living in Padua had also been activated. Other administrations in the Padua area have come to the aid of the Tunisian family, such as that of Montegrotto, and the Fillea CGIL of Padua, together with street lawyers, to obtain residency in the Municipality of Padua.
