They found a dying duck in the street and, instead of rescuing it or alerting the authorities, they beat it until it was killed, immortalizing everything in a video.

New, disturbing episode of gratuitous violence against animals in Puglia, precisely in Rodi Garganico, province of Foggia.

The Lndc Animal Protection association highlights "that the video reached us through a chat circuit, WhatsApp messaging and Instagram and we were told that it can be traced back to the municipality in the province of Foggia".

In the video we see a group of young people inciting a boy armed with a stick to hit the already dying animal to finish it off, which happens shortly after, amid general laughter.

The association has already forwarded a complaint, currently against unknown persons, to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Foggia "in an attempt to clarify the video and trace the perpetrators of the gesture".

The association's lawyer, Alessandra Itro, reminds us that "killing an animal is a crime punishable by the penal code with sentences ranging from 4 months to 2 years".

"Even if the animal is dying - underlines Piera Rosati, President of Lncd Animal Protection - it is not justifiable to attack it, but it is a clear duty to provide first aid and call for help, requesting the intervention of the veterinary health authority ".
