The stalker of the Sardinian volleyball player Alessia Orro, star of the Vero Volley of Monza and of the national team, was arrested by the carabinieri. The 55-year-old, originally from Novara, was blocked in Villasanta: for the umpteenth time he was following the 23-year-old athlete from Narbolia (Oristano) as he entered the Monza sports hall for training. The man had already been denounced in 2019 and therefore kept an eye on.

His obsession with the player had not stopped and continued to shower her with messages. Obviously, he showed up for matches and even for training sessions. Yesterday afternoon the man's car was identified in Villasanta and the carabinieri arrived on the spot.

The validation hearing is now awaited.

Orro wrote a message to his fans on Instagram: "I feel compelled as an athlete and public figure to share with you what is now slowly coming out everywhere ... I would like to set an example not only on the pitch, but also and especially outside, to help all the people who have or are going through this difficult time as it has happened to me in the past and in this last period. Boys and girls do not be afraid to report, violence, in whatever form it is, should not be underestimated. Be courageous, because I personally know how difficult it can be, especially when you realize that the past could return to the present, but I can assure you that it would be even more difficult to face it alone! ".
