The Council of Ministers has approved the decree reforming the final exam. Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara explained this while presenting the new provisions outside Palazzo Chigi, which "profoundly modifies the oral exam" and stipulates that "those who remain silent during the oral exam, and those who fail to perform properly, will fail the oral exam."

This measure follows what happened in July, when numerous students refused to take the oral exam after having earned the credits necessary to obtain the diploma during the three-year period and in the written tests .

This isn't the only new development the minister outlined: "The discussion about the document, which had raised many concerns and even a lot of anxiety among students, has disappeared, and the oral exam will therefore be more serious and relaxed. Four subjects were decided in January on which the oral exam will focus."

The composition of the commission is also changing, decreasing from 7 to 5. "There are therefore savings," Valditara added, "which will be used, among other things, to train future examiners. Those who serve as examiners for the final exam will receive specific training. We also plan to pay the examiners who will take the final exams more."
