Thieves in action at the home of Sara Simeoni , the queen of the high jump, in Rivoli Veronese. In the loot also ended up an object that for sports champions is invaluable: the gold medal won at the Moscow Olympics in 1980, the one earned after a memorable duel with the East German Rosemarie Ackermann.

Also gone are cups and other trophies.

After the complaint to the carabinieri, the champion's appeal to the perpetrators of the raid: "At least give me back the gold won in Moscow, it is the symbol of so many expectations, it means everything, for you nothing".
