Tragedy in Trescore Balneario, in the province of Bergamo, where a little girl died crushed by the gate of her home.
The accident occurred on Tuesday evening, in via Muratello, a hilly road that leads to the nearby town of Cenate Sopra.
According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the little girl - Federica Bena, 9 years old - was on the slide of the house and the heavy gate would have overwhelmed her, after having yielded, detaching herself from a pin.
Immediate alarm to 118, raised by family: the little girl was transferred with the utmost urgency to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo, where she arrived in very serious condition.
Unfortunately, the doctors' attempts to save her life were useless.
The investigations into what happened are conducted by the carabinieri.
