An NCC driver, Giuseppe Dalzini, 66, said he was beaten by a taxi driver near Malpensa Terminal 1 due to an argument caused by overtaking.
The episode, reconstructed by the newspaper Il Giorno, dates back to Friday at 5pm: Danzini was going to the airport to pick up a client and on State Road 336 which connects the Milan-Varese to Malpensa, «I was taking the fast lane - he says - even if in reality at that time the queue of cars makes it a normal travel lane".
The taxi came from behind and signaled him to move and then overtook him dangerously on the right. "Shortly afterwards - continues the NCC - I overtook him again and he made me understand that he would make me pay".
Dalzini then decided to stop in the large taxi stand in Terminal 1 and wait for him for clarification. There was no clarification : «He got out of the car armed with a stick and attacked me. I managed to avoid the first blows: I'm a martial arts instructor, I know how to defend myself. During the movement, however, I lost my glasses: as soon as I bent down to pick them up, it hit me on the head. I stood up and told him "you're crazy". Then I saw the blood dripping down my neck and shirt ."
And the stick? «He made it disappear, he must have passed it on to his colleagues. Several arrived: no one helped me, some told me they would beat me because I was an NCC." Dalzini called 112: an ambulance and a finance patrol arrived . «It ended with a handshake - concludes Dalzini -. I was a taxi driver for 24 years, before becoming NCC in 2017. For this reason, I decided not to sue him: we are on the street to work, there is room for everyone."
In the absence of a complaint, the taxi driver, licensed in the Milan area, will not have consequences but in all likelihood he will have disciplinary consequences.
