A stop to bureaucracy for disabled people is the intention of Minister Alessandra Locatelli thanks to the implementing decree of the enabling law on disability (L.227 of 2021), approved in recent days by the Council of Ministers .

A change to the administrative procedures currently present in the Italian regions which bind disabled people and their families, often forced to undergo endless visits and produce medical certifications.

A life project, built in a tailor-made manner, on the expectations, values and needs of the disabled person and a state administration that communicates and cooperates and is not adverse to medical and social needs.

A total taking charge of needs, no longer compartmentalized in the social and healthcare fields, in a path that takes shape from birth to adulthood: school education, professional training, home independence , areas in which the watchwords will be equity and inclusion, “Project Life”.

In providing multidimensional value to the disabled person there will be the abrogation of the words "handicapped" and the expression "handicapped" in the laws of the Italian State.

The experimental phase will begin on January 1, 2025 in some regions for a full year before systematic approval in 2026.
