Smuggling of migrants, operation of the Guardia di Finanza

Operation against the illegal trafficking of migrants in Salento. The blitz, which began at dawn, concerns a criminal organization and sees in action the Financial Police of Lecce and the Scico of Rome, in collaboration with the Greek and Albanian police, directed by the Prosecutor of Lecce, with the coordination of Eurojust, Europol, SCIP and the National Anti-Mafia and Counter-terrorism Directorate.

Preliminary custody orders are carried out against 22 people accused of being part of a criminal association aimed at aiding and abetting illegal immigration, aggravated by transnationality.
