The FIGC Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation to shed light on the brawl that broke out at the end of Fiorentina-Roma, the semi-final of the Primavera championship. And which, according to the Giallorossi club, was started by Nicolò Zaniolo: the former Roma player went to the locker room, from there the fight began in which two Primavera players were slapped.
Fiorentina, however, denied the reconstruction, entrusting the version of the facts to Zaniolo's words: "To avoid further tensions I left". On social media, however, Zaniolo himself now apologizes: "I want to apologize with all my heart for what happened yesterday. I know I reacted badly and I take responsibility for it", he writes. "However, I want to clarify that the facts are far from what has been reconstructed and that on my part, other than a verbal argument, there was no physically aggressive behavior".
"I went there with the sole intention of sending a positive signal, of being close to the boys in a difficult moment after the match. Unfortunately, I was verbally provoked by a boy and by mistake I lost my temper - he continues -. It is a mistake that weighs on me, especially because I know I have to be an example for the younger ones. I know I have disappointed someone with this episode, but I hope you can understand that it was not my intention to disrespect anyone - explains the player -. Having said that, I renew my apologies. As a man, as an athlete and as a person who loves this environment, I just want to rebuild and look forward with humility ".
The interrogations will begin in the next few hours at the Prosecutor's Office.
