The State Police of Reggio Calabria arrested a 48-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man for kidnapping and family mistreatment. The victim was the woman's 81-year-old father, suffering from depressive disorders.
The elderly man was segregated in the room for long periods of the day and left in this condition even when his tormentors left the house.
The two, she a housewife and he busy carrying out odd jobs, locked him up for months. At the time of the execution of the judicial order, the officers found the woman's partner in the house who was not even in possession of the keys to open the "cell".
The elderly man, tested, was entrusted to the care of some acquaintances while his daughter and her partner, on the orders of the investigating judge of Palmi, were placed under house arrest.
