The proposal of the former director of the Infectious Diseases department of the Sacco Massimo Galli hospital to "extend" the Christmas holidays in the event that the Covid situation worsens is discussed.

"One thing that, after all, is not bad is that, with the Christmas holidays, schools will be closed for a while - said Galli -. possibly think of a postponement of the holidays if things go badly or very badly. I'm not asking for a return to dad, but suggesting to think of a possible, greater hiatus, especially for all those non-vaccinated and non-vaccinable groups ".

In fact, "the iradiddio" comes, first of all from the principals: "I am of the idea that 'extending' the Christmas holidays for students, providing, for example, 7 days of Dad, is an ineffective choice - says Antonello Giannelli, president of 'National Association of Public Managers and High Professionals (NPC) -. In my view, the main road remains that of vaccinations. In the age group between 16 and 19 we are already 80%, but now we have to push on accelerator for under 16 ".

"Such an initiative would not bring great results - adds Giannelli - unless a plan is drawn up which establishes that the schools return on January 18 but with all the children vaccinated. It should be added that no study so far it has correlated the increase in infections with school in the presence. It is obvious that in a period of pandemic the ideal would be to close everyone at home but this cannot be done for the economy of this country but also for children: Dad undoubtedly has less effective effects on the learning path of students ".
