They braved the difficulties of the journey to reach the Brenner pass and say "stop counterfeit food", to protect Sardinian companies and Made in Italy. They are the hundreds of farmers and breeders who from the island - from Sassari to Nuoro, passing through the province of Oristano and Cagliari - have decided to join their colleagues from all over the rest of Italy, who have gathered in the "symbolic place ” for the passage of products.

In two days - according to estimates - there will be over 10 thousand Coldiretti members gathered at the demonstration to raise their voices to protect consumer health and defend company income. With the collaboration of the police, they are checking the contents of trucks, refrigerated trucks, tankers, an action «made necessary by the uncontrolled arrivals of food from abroad which often do not respect the same rules as national ones and thus create unfair competition to Italian production, causing the prices paid to farmers to collapse", reads a press release from the trade association.

Arriving at Brenner - with hundreds of Sardinian farmers and breeders - are the leaders of the regional association with the president and director, Battista Cualbu and Luca Saba , the presidents and directors of all the island provinces, the Coldiretti Sardinia regional council and the many representatives of the island's companies, all united to defend Italy and Sardinia from unfair imports and the arrival of low quality products which become fake Italian food. A huge problem for Sardinian producers especially in those sectors under attack which affect company income by introducing low-cost products, of dubious origin and often passed off as Italian.
