Run over and killed by a car late yesterday evening on their way to the threshing festival.
The tragedy occurred on the provincial road which in Irpinia connects Sant'Angelo dei Lombardi to the disused railway yard of Morra De Sanctis.
The victims are two pensioners from Nusco, husband and wife: they were run over as they were crossing the road to reach the place where the party was taking place. After the collision, the car stopped to provide assistance, but there was nothing they could do.
The two victims, who were about to spend a carefree evening, were called Vittorio Biancaniello and Lucia Marino. He died instantly, she while being transported to the hospital.
