The raid is part of an investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office into corruption, bid-rigging and disclosure of official secrets that, according to what has been learned in judicial circles, hypothesizes alleged bribes of approximately 400 thousand euros in reference to contracts for road works worth approximately 400 million euros. Again according to initial information, at least two Anas officials are among those under investigation, involved in a round of bribes in exchange for contracts for road works involving Lombardy and North-East Italy.

"I hope that the investigators do their job well and quickly. And if there is someone who has made a mistake, let them pay," said the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini.
