A correspondent for the program "Mi manda Rai Tre" was attacked.

Victim Stefano Maria Sandrucci, threatened, then chased and beaten with a stick by a municipal councilor while he was in San Nicandro Garganico, in the province of Foggia, for an investigation « on private schools and on the so-called diploma factories, the private institutions accused of make it easier to obtain qualifications than in public schools".

According to what was reported in a note from the Rai broadcast, «the alleged trafficking of false diplomas and false certificates» would take place «by an institute attributable to a well-known politician in the area - former parliamentarian and former mayor - and his son, in turn a councilor municipal representative in office and candidate for the office of mayor in the last elections ". «Coming across the latter – the note reports – our colleague, with the courtesy and kindness that have always characterized the entire investigative activity of Mi Manda RaiTre, asked him to be available to answer some questions, allowing him to respond to the accusations of the Foggia Prosecutor's Office".

But «the suspect suddenly grabbed a bat from his car, attacking Sandrucci and attempting to hit him on the head . Only due to quick reflexes and luck our correspondent was not fully hit. The attacker, not satisfied, however continued to rant and threaten Sandrucci with death , and then directed the same attention to the camera operator who was taking shelter behind a car."

The correspondent and the operator " sought shelter in the nearby Guardia di Finanza barracks , where the soldiers gathered their story, and then kept the attacker at a distance who in the meantime had arrived at the headquarters, accompanied by his father".
