The Poggi family will not join the civil action against Andrea Sempio in the preliminary hearing that is looming after the Pavia Prosecutor's Office, having concluded its investigation, requests that the 38-year-old be sent to trial in the new investigation into the Garlasco crime.

This was reported by Francesco Compagna, who, together with Gianluigi Tizzoni, represents Chiara Poggi's family.

"We have no financial claims against innocent people," the lawyer said.

Chiara's parents and brother, Marco, a friend of Sempio's since adolescence, have always been opposed to the new investigation, maintaining that the only person guilty of the crime is Alberto Stasi.

In fact, the lawyers of Chiara's parents and brother will be involved in any review proceedings that Stasi's defense will propose .
