A heated argument, with a push and a missed punch. This is what allegedly happened yesterday in Rome, in Piazza Pepe, between the journalist Luca Telese and Andrea “Tarzan” Alzetta, former Roman councilor and representative of Spin Time labs, an occupied building in via Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, a construction site for cultural activities and home to many families.
The fight during the assembly on Saturday morning, called by the Polo civico Esquilino association, to discuss the situation of the neighborhood in the presence of the president of the first municipality Lorenza Bonaccorsi. Tempers flared over the idea of a gate in the square. "A fence not to close, but as passive protection of a public good," the words of Telese reported by Corriere della sera.
"The drug dealers break bottles to make the gardens impassable, they beat up the homeless and have engaged in a battle against the Sinhalese who are workers...", continued the journalist. And again: "Excuse me, but does the fence in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele seem like a bad experiment to you?", so the response of some of those present would have been to call him a "fascist".
According to Alzetta, "everyone is free to have their own position, but after having made his intervention during the debate, he interrupted the public meeting three more times. Then he approached me" and after a joke "he put his hand in my face. I responded with a push, he lost his balance". The whole thing, he continues, was resolved almost immediately: "Then we cleared things up with a handshake".
