A thousand demonstrators besieged the San Lorenzo police station demanding the immediate release of one of the three arrested for the clashes in Viale Regina Elena, outside the La Sapienza university of Rome, after the protest of the student collectives calling for the halt of the academic agreements with Israel.

According to what the FGC boys said, at least three boys were stopped and there were some injured . «Faced with the mobilization of today's students, Sapienza's response was once again an armored Academic Senate and the rapid response. The university is willing to burden its students rather than listen to the requests of thousands of students, researchers and teachers. The Rector assumes her responsibilities: immediate resignation!", they write on social media.

«During the procession they stopped two comrades, we want to reach the police station but the police prevent us from passing and charge the students. Furthermore, the Academic Senate deliberates condemning the massacre and calling for a ceasefire, but it is only a declaration to clear one's conscience. Not a word about the agreements. No concrete intention to stop complicity in the genocide. The Senate's response to our requests is shameful. And the police charges are shameful", the young people of the Collettivi Sapienza coordination say and then write on social media.

«My closeness to the rector, Antonella Polimeni. What is happening at La Sapienza University is shameful – the words of the University Minister Anna Maria Bernini –. Legitimate protest can never lead to violence and abuse. The Senate's decision highlights that the academic community does not accept impositions from a minority that would like to isolate Italian universities from the international context. Research cannot be boycotted."
