Principal attacked with kicks and punches by the parents of a pupil: he is in hospital

"Whoever attacks a school employee attacks the State."

The Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara said this, commenting on the attack suffered by Marco Cesario, head teacher in a school in Taranto.

The parents of a pupil who shortly before had had a heated argument with a teacher threw themselves against the principal, kicking and punching them. Cesario suffered wounds and bruises declared to be healable in seven days, while his parents, as far as we know, were reported free by the police for injuries.

Now the minister has also intervened in the matter, announcing his intention to join as a civil party. «The institution also suffered damage. Damage to one's image. It is up to the judge to decide whether to recognize us as a civil party, but if he does, the compensation money will go to the school of the attacked principal", said Valditara.
