New hearing, in the court of Milan, of the proceeding that sees Mauro Pili and the top management of the Onorato Group oppose each other , after the latter quoted the former MP and leader of Unidos, accusing him of having damaged their reputation in a series of posts published on social media between 2018 and 2019.

Before the judge Maria Cristina Filiciotto , Pili, assisted by the lawyer Daniele Ripamonti , answered the questions of the prosecutor, concerning the contents of the posts at the center of the proceeding.

Posts in which Pili defined Vincenzo and Achille Onorato as «Pinocchio and Pinocchietto», assuming, among other things, also «alleged breaches of contract» by the Group (Moby, Cin and Tirrenia) as well as the use, for the sections managed, of "inadequate ships".

During the hearing, which lasted almost three hours, Pili responded point by point to the objections , illustrating - through data, documents and press articles - the genesis of the offending posts and the reasons that led him to carry on with what he claimed as a «persuasively severe criticism» leveled at the Group also in the wake – he underlined – of «solicitations» coming from operators in the road haulage sector in Sardinia and gathering requests and voices of the «generalized protest» of users for the situation of tariffs and maritime connections to and from the island.

At the end of Pili's hearing, the lawyer representing the Onoratos declared that he would renounce, with reserve, the examination of the accused .

The return to court is scheduled for April 13th.
